The Petsitter & Housesitter you're looking for

Kia ora, I’m Aunty Kaz – or at least that’s what most of the pets I look after end up calling me. I take it as a badge of honour. Friends and family call me Kaz. Government agencies, banks, and insurance companies call me Karolyn Timarkos.

I’m a full-time remote worker and house & pet sitter, which means I’m around for most of the day. I spread my work out in a relaxed way with plenty of breaks, so apart from the odd grocery run or short outing, I’m usually home keeping your furry (or feathered!) family company — with plenty of time for pats, chats, and cuddles.

Keeping tails wagging and whiskers happy while you’re away

I genuinely love getting to know new animals — mostly dogs and cats, but I’ve also cared for parrots, horses, chickens, guinea pigs, rabbits, and even the occasional rat. Every animal becomes “mine” while I’m with them, and I treat them exactly the way I’d want my own to be treated — with attention, patience, and a lot of affection (depending on what their personal love language happens to be).

For dogs, I’m happy to arrive the night before you leave if that works for you. It helps make the transition smoother when they wake up with a familiar face rather than a brand-new stranger at the door. Cats are a bit different, of course — they usually just want to supervise, judge quietly from a distance, and make sure I understand exactly where the food lives (I do, Your Majesty).

Your pets, my priority. Your home, my care

When it comes to your home, I’ll look after it as if it were my own — tidy, respectful, and well cared for. I’m definitely more of a cosy-night-in person than a party one, and I’m a non-smoker, so you can expect a calm, steady presence while you’re away, and a clean home to return to. If you’d like to “meet” me before deciding, I’d genuinely love to. A Zoom chat is a great way to put a face to the name, see if we click, and go through any questions you’ve got.

This was the second time Kaz looked after our house, dog, cat, chickens and ducks and once again we were very happy with the arrangement. Kaz stayed in our house for 5 weeks over Christmas and New Year and coped with immense amounts of rain which flooded the chicken coop on two occasions, so she did not have an easy time. However, she took it all in her stride, communicated with us throughout and all was well. We have already re-booked Kaz for the same time next year!

Kaz is a great house-sitter and we believe you won't find anyone as conscientious, reliable and trustworthy. Our cat Muffin is fussy but she and Kaz quickly established a nice rapport. Kaz helped us cover all things that sitters need to know by giving us a check-list she has compiled through her long experience with house-sitting in many parts of NZ and Australia. So, thanks very much Kaz. Hope other people and animals have the pleasure of meeting you as we did.

Kaz was a lovely house sitter. Lots of personality, tidy, dedicated and kind. My cats seemed calm and happy upon my arrival. My group contracted covid towards the end of our trip and it was such a relief to come home to a clean and well cared for home. Thank you Karolyn!!! We were lucky to have you.
